U3A Annual Concert
Updated: Nov 4, 2022
What a wonderful experience attending the U3A Concert last Saturday! The theme was music from the 50s and 60s. It started at 10:00am and went until approximately 1:00pm. At least 250 people attended.
The quality of the performers had to be seen to be believed. Who would have thought that this level of talent was right under our noses in Redcliffe? The talent included performances from string ensembles, a jazz and guitar band, individual singers, the U3A choir, gusto singers, poetry accompanied by fairies with the M.C introducing each act with tongue in cheek humour.
The final act had the audience up in the aisles dancing "The Twist" with Chubby Checker. Even two Counsellors, Karl Winchester and Sandra Ruck were on stage twisting.
A wonderful lunch of sandwiches and cake was provided at the end of the performances.
Some of our RSCC members performed ... did you spot them?
1. Setting up the Redcliffe Senior Citizen Centre's Hall - ain't she neat?
2. Songs from The Sound of Music with "Gusto Singing"
3. We Four Angels ... props for poem "Who wants to be an Angel"
4. Finale ... doing "The Twist" with Sandra Rick and Karl Winchester (MBRC)
