OPEN DAY VALUABLE SUPPORT

COUNCIL SPONSORSHIP

Sunday 9 October 2022 saw the Redcliffe Senior Citizens Centre hold its inaugural Open Day to celebrate Seniors’ Month. What an event!

Firstly, we'd like to acknowledge and sincerely thank the Moreton Bay Regional Council and Cr Karl Winchester for their ongoing interest in our activities and support of our Centre.

Funded by a generous grant from the Moreton Bay Regional Council, our Open Day was an outstanding success.

We were fortunate to receive a grant of almost $1000 to make the Open Day possible. It enabled us to hold a very successful afternoon that raised awareness of our Centre and what it offers the community.

We're very grateful that Councillor Karl Winchester could attend the afternoon and spend time with members and visitors.

Our wonderful Secretary, Rhyll Hansen, was extraordinary! She and her team of planners put together the program in a very short amount of time, and they did a fantastic job.

ACTIVITY LEADERS & CENTRE MEMBERS

A BIG thank you to all the Activity Leaders and other members who gave their time, energy and enthusiasm to set up and run the day.

Thank you very much to members who delivered Open Day flyers to get the word out and draw in community members.

Thanks to the band of banner raisers, who helped draw attention to our premises and the upcoming event.

Thank you to our cleaner, Lisa, who cleaned and tidied the Hall after the U3A concert on Saturday. Lisa and Committee members then gave the Hall an extra dash of spit and polish in preparation for the event.

Lisa also stayed on to serve refreshments to members and guests who attended.

Thank you to John, our honorary groundsman, who mowed and removed mountains of leaves so our grounds looked first class.
