A Mighty Mahjong Day

Redcliffe Bayside Mahjong Club extended an open invitation to experienced Mahjong players to join them for their One Day Fun Day at the Redcliffe Senior Citizens Centre pm Thursday 16 March 2023.

It was a long day, but the event was great value for money. Players paid a $30 entry fee that included lunch, morning and afternoon tea, entertainment by a local singer, Noel Kelly and stacks of prizes.

Over 90 people competed, including one of your very own Mahjong players, Anne Marie Van De Spuy.

Mahjong competition underway ...

Prizes were awarded at the end of the day which included door prizes and raffles. Cash prizes were also given to winners of games.

Mahjong clubs around Brisbane and north Queensland have plans for other days like this. Each club is responsible for organizing a competition in their local area.

A number of our Mahjong players plan to participate in the North Lakes competition in July.

Anthea Daly, Bev Kurth, Jim McAlister, Lynn McAlister, Lisette Dillon, and of course our Centre's mascot, Chloe.

The competition has put the Redcliffe Senior Citizens Centre on the map locally. Those who attended were certainly interested in what our Centre had to offer.
